fingerpaintingWe work closely with many partners to achieve our goals of making connections, building community, and transforming lives in Brightmoor and in Redford.

Aldersgate United Methodist Church

Redford Brightmoor Initiative was born out of the merger of the Redford Aldersgate and West Outer Drive United Methodist Churches.  Initially a part of the merged church, RBI is now a separate 501(c)(3) but still works closely with the church.

Covenant Partners

Several organizations have become Covenant Partners with RBI, giving generously of financial resources, in-kind donations, and volunteer time.

Our current Covenant Partners are

  • Aldersgate United Methodist Church
  • Birmingham First United Methodist Church
  • Canton Friendship United Methodist Church
  • Clarkston United Methodist Church
  • Dearborn Good Shepherd United Methodist Church
  • Royal Oak First United Methodist Church
  • Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church
  • Troy First United Methodist Church
  • Woodbury Peaceful Grove United Methodist Church

We welcome other faith-based groups as well as other organizations to join us in this work.  Please contact us if your organization is interested in becoming a Covenant Partner with Redford Brightmoor Initiative.

Brick Builders

Individuals and families who want to make a contribution to the sustainability of Redford Brightmoor Initiative can become Brick Builders.  These supporters make a pledge to contribute a significant amount (at least $1,000) annually for at least three years. Rather than being designated for a specific project, the Brick Builder contributions are available for use wherever the need is greatest.

We welcome others who want to make a sustaining contribution to this effort.  See the Brickbuilder brochure and form to become a Brick Builder. Please contact us with any questions you may have about becoming a Brick Builder partner with Redford Brightmoor Initiative.

Motown Mission Experience

We have worked closely with Motown Mission Experience for a number of years. The enthusiastic youth and adult teams which come to Detroit through Motown Mission have done wonderful work repairing houses, cleaning up lots, and boarding up vacant homes in the neighborhood.

Other Brightmoor Groups

We also work closely with several other groups working in the Brightmoor neighborhood.

  • Neighbors Building Brightmoor and the Brightmoor Farmway
  • Brightmoor Alliance
